Tai Chi Practice, Getting It Right
Practice away from the school can be a bit of sore point with a lot of students, especially those who are new to tai chi. Although I do pretty well practicing everyday, life sometimes gets pretty busy and I don’t get in the amount of practice I really think I should. For that matter, I’m sure my master and my teacher would agree.
The infamous master of Duhism, Bob Tzu, has a point about practice. I think I understand what he’s getting at here, then again maybe not.
“As a Duhism Master, I practice celibacy. But no matter how much I practice, I can’t seem to get it right.”
Your thoughts?
John
P.S. Remember it’s just practice. Don’t make too big a deal out of it. I found this picture here: http://www.in-control.org.uk/site/INCO/Templates/General.aspx?pageid=1027&cc=GB

My sifu enforces this thing called, 100 days of unbroken practice, where to progress from stage to stage, you have to do 100 consecutive days practice without a break, and it’s only 10mins a day at home, which you can progress well, it teaches persistence and habit.
I am onto my second attempt at my second 100 days, I broke the run and forgot to do it one day, but I now have to practice it 2x a day, and I always go over 10 mins.
Sheldon you maniac, 2x a day!
I would definitely agree, a little practice everyday helps you progress much more rapidly. I’ve learned to do this by incorporating aspects of tai chi into other things I’m doing as well, just in case I get too busy.
