An Incredible Lightness of Tai Chi

lightness of tai chi.jpgToday I’m going to simply leave you with a concept.  I think this ties in with tai chi because in the practice of tai chi we seek to find the energy within ourselves, and to direct energy sent in our direction, while causing the one sending it as little real pain as possible.  I guess you could say we’re seeking the light within ourselves.

“Light exists, darkness doesn’t. Don’t spend your moments fighting the darkness. Pursue the light with all the energy of your heart!”

Your thoughts?

John

Darkness is simply the absence of light as is cold the absence of heat, without either you will find yourself in a dark cold place if you first don’t find the light so go towards the light find it create it or just acknowledge it’s existence and than you will find the thermostat and turn the heat up.

Agree with Bobby. It’s very much in the yin-yang diagram. no yin, no yang. no dark, no light. both is important. darkness will turn to light and will turn to darkness. to take one step further, not just accept their existence, but accept their cycle, their relationship, their ever changing nature. then you will be able to use both light and darkness to your advantage.

If there’s no dark, then we’ve nothing to seek, for we must already be light.

    Hmm…

    Bobby,

I do like having some idea of where the thermostat is. For that matter, finding the light switch can make everything easier can’t it?

    Shang Lee,

OK you got me; I wish I’d read your comment before I responded to Bobby’s now. ;-)

One can’t exist without the other. Without knowing one, we can’t know the other.

    Steven,

Each comment on this post just goes deeper and deeper. I think I’ll just be quiet for a while and let you guys do your thing. You’re doing a better job than I am at any rate. ;-)
